A 23-year-old Myanmar national and Singapore Permanent Resident is set to face charges in court on July 29 for allegedly providing funds intended for terrorist activities in Gaza City. The Ministry of Home Affairs announced that the Internal Security Department (ISD) initiated investigations after the individual's extremist online postings were brought to their attention. The man is accused of transferring US$72.28 and attempting to transfer an additional US$1 to PayPal accounts designated by an overseas-based individual, whom he believed was raising money to purchase military equipment for a terrorist act in Gaza City. The authorities emphasized that providing money for terrorist purposes is a serious offense, regardless of the amount involved, with penalties including a fine of up to S$500,000, imprisonment for up to 10 years, or both.
